Reading books and printed journals
On-site reading is available for all items, readers may take books from open shelves and use them in the library reading rooms.
We invite users not to store the material used, but to leave it on the tables: the library staff will replace it on the shelf.
Databases, e.journals
Some computer stations are available in the reading rooms for consulting electronic resources and surfing the Internet: they are accessible with Unimore credentials.
Wi-Fi is active from anywhere in the library: users with Unimore or Eduroam credentials can use their laptops.
Borrowing
All books can be loaned with the exception of rare books or reference material, i.e. dictionaries and encyclopedias, which are for library use only. Journals can't be loaned.
A self-check machine is available.
Students can borrow 4 books for 30 days, teachers 4 books for 90 days.
Loans renewals
Loan renewals can be done online, using “Accedi” in Bibliomore, at the loans desk or by phone.
Renewals are possible if the item has not been reserved, before the loan expiry date.
Reserving books
You can make a reservation online (via Bibliomore), asking library staff or via self-check machine.
Books can only be reserved if they are on loan: once a reservation has been placed on an item it will no longer be renewed.
When the book that you have reserved is returned you will be notified.
Photocopying, printing, faxes
In the photocopying room, accessible from the collection room, you can:

A fax service is available on demand.
Reference service
Librarians can help you to search for literature: to make an appointment mail to bumedica@unimore.it.
“Ask a librarian" is an online information service offered by Unimore libraries: you'll receive an answer within 4 working days.

Inter-Library Loan
Health Sciences books not owned by the Biblioteca Medica can be borrowed from other libraries.
Users must fill in a form at the Information Desk: they will be notified via email when the book is available.
The service is free for requests to Italian libraries, unless the supplying library requests a refund of the shipping costs.
A fee of 20 € is applied for books provided by other libraries.
No charge for books from the Biblioteca Interdipartimentale di Reggio Emilia.
Document Delivery (supply of journal articles)
Users can request articles that are not available in the libraries of Modena area.
UNIMORE users:
For the first request: register for the NILDE USERS program.
Answer YES to the first question, then proceed following the instructions and wait for the confirmation email.
Registered users: click here and enter your request from "Institutional login"
NON UNIMORE users:
For the first request: register for the NILDE USERS program.
Answer NO to the first question, then proceed and create username and password. Wait for the confirmation email.
Registered users: click here and enter your request from "Login".
You can ask up to 3 items per week: the service is free for items provided by Italian libraries. A fee of 10 € is applied to articles supplied by foreign libraries.
The user will receive an email to collect the articles at the information desk.
Internet and wireless
Internet access is granted everywhere in the library, both through dedicated desktops and with users' own laptops (via wireless).
Prior authentication is necessary in order to access the internet and wireless, using Unimore or Eduroam credentials.
